USD Law welcomed the Class of 2019 to first year orientation today. The 55 member class was greeted by Dean Tom Geu for introductory remarks and then heard from Chief Justice David Gilbertson of the South Dakota Supreme Court who spoke to them about the legal profession, professional responsibility, the workings of the Court, and more. The Chief Justice also administered an Oath of Professionalism for all the incoming students.
This is day 1 in a 4 day orientation week in which incoming students are given informational on everything on how to read a case and write their first brief to where the Dean’s Suite is located. Classes at the School of Law begin Friday, Aug 12.
